I am a Royal Society University Research Fellow and Reader in Physics at the Clarendon Laboratory, University of Oxford. I hold a Tutorial Fellowship at Magdalen College, where I am Tutor for Admissions. I work in the Departments of Physics and Materials on Correlated Electron Systems and Quantum Spin dynamics. I am also working on an experiment to build a "polarization synchrotron". This device sets up a superluminal accelerated polarization current distribution, which produces electromagnetic radiation with interesting properties.
